Frequently Asked Questions

We have had a groundswell of interest for the "New Rule 144: Everything You Need to Know ? And Do NOW" Conference. Below are some frequently asked questions:

  1. Can I receive the member discount on conference rates if someone else at my company/firm is a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net?
  2. No. You can only receive the member discount if you are a member (remember, it has to be a 2008 member). However, you might be at a company/firm that has a Single Office Location or Firmwide license that enables you to get the special rate.

In other words, if you work in an office that is covered by either a Single Office Location or Firmwide license to TheCorporateCounsel.net ? you are eligible for the member discount. However, if someone in your office has a single membership and you don't ? you need to become a member yourself to receive the member discount.

If you are uncertain as to whether you are a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net, send us an email at info@thecorporatecounsel.net and we can let you know.

  3. How much does the Conference Cost?
  4. Here are our Conference rates. Note that we have priced this Conference to encourage the largest possible attendance. It's not too late to become a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or a subscriber to The Corporate Counsel to qualify for the reduced member rates.

If you need any assistance, please contact us at info@thecorporatecounsel.net or 925.685.5111 (note this is a West Coast phone number, operative between 8 am ? 4 pm West Coast time).

  5. Why does my company/firm need a Firmwide users license?
  6. With the stakes so high now for those involved with insider transactions, many companies and law firms are taking advantage of the Firmwide Membership Center - so that all your staff can access the many resources on TheCorporateCounsel.net and The Corporate Counsel. (Even if you have an existing membership to TheCorporateCounsel.net, you can upgrade to a Firmwide license and enable all your staff to access this crucial program; you will receive a credit for any money you have already paid).

  7. If I plan to watch the webcast by video webcast, what type of equipment and connection will I need?
  8. Here's what you'll need to watch the video:

    • To watch by video webcast, you will need at least a 100 kbps connection to the Internet.

    • You will need one of the following two "players" to access the video webcast, Windows Media Player or Flash Player (note that the RealPlayer won?t work for the Conference). Click here to check whether you already have the Windows Media Player or click here to determine if you have the Flash Player, which also allows you to determine whether you have the proper connectivity or any potential firewall issues.

    • If you don't have one of the players, you need the free Windows Media Player (download here) or the free Flash Player (download here). Please note that after downloading the software, you must install it. Simply downloading the software will not allow access to the archive. Downloading and/or installing the software may require permission from your network administrator.

    • If you are still unable to access the archive, contact your IT department.

  9. For how long will I have access to the video archives of the Conference?
  10. If you register for the Conference, you will have access to the video archives of the Conference until December 31, 2008.

  11. What if I can't watch the Conference because I am too busy that day?
  12. We will be archiving every single minute of the Conference ? so you can go back and watch the Conference at any time until December 31, 2008.

  13. Can I earn continuing education credit for attending the Conference?
  14. It depends. Lawyers can earn CLE for select states. Here is the list of states in which this program is accredited. If you have CLE questions, send them to cle@thecorporatecounsel.net.

  15. Can I pay for the Conference even though I am not a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or a subscriber of The Corporate Counsel?
  16. Sure. But we believe that nearly all members of TheCorporateCounsel.net and subscribers of The Corporate Counsel will decide to attend the Conference.

You should note that this Conference is priced so that it's cheaper than any other comparable conference rate we can find because we value your membership!

  17. Do I have to be a member of both TheCorporateCounsel.net and a subscriber of The Corporate Counsel to get the member rate?
  18. To get the best rate, you should be both a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net and a subscriber of The Corporate Counsel (you will need to renew for 2008; the reduced rates are for 2008 members and subscribers). However, if you are just a member of the TheCorporateCounsel.net, there is a different member rate available for you.

  19. If my company/firm signs up to watch the Conference, what type of ID/password will we get?
  20. To make it easy, your organization would use the same ID/password you currently use for TheCorporateCounsel.net (if you have one) so in a sense, your company/firm would ?piggyback? on the ID/password you already have. This alleviates administrative headaches involved with juggling multiple IDs and passwords.

  21. Will written transcripts of the panels from the Conference be made available?
  22. No. However, a video archive of each panel will be available - something not available for most other conferences.

  23. Can I ask questions before, during or after the Conference?
  24. Yes, you can post your questions on the special "Rule 144 Q&A Forum" of TheCorporateCounsel.net at any time. In the alternative, you can e-mail them to info@ccrcorp.com.

However, due to limited available time, the panelists will not be able to answer questions during the Conference. But they will be helping to answer questions posted in the Q&A Forum.

  25. If I want to attend the Conference in person, how can I do that?
  26. Due to the busy proxy season for most people, we have decided to make this Conference available only by nationwide video webcast ? this will cut down on travel time (and costs) for those immersed in the proxy season.

  27. What is your cancellation policy?
  28. Full refunds are available if you notify us before January 1st. After January 1st, there will be no refunds permitted. Remember - you will need to renew for 2008; the reduced Conference rates are for 2008 members and subscribers.
