Frequently Asked QuestionsWe have had a groundswell of interest for our pair of full-day Conferences: "Tackling Your 2010 Compensation Disclosures: The 4th Annual Proxy Disclosure Conference" and the "6th Annual Executive Compensation Conference." Below are some frequently asked questions:
No. You can only receive the member discount if you are a member. However, you might be at a company/firm that has an Unlimited or Firmwide license that enables you to get the special rate. In other words, if you work in an office that is covered by either an Unlimited or Firmwide license to CompensationStandards.com – you are eligible for the member discount. However, if someone in your office has a single membership and you don't – you need to become a member yourself to receive the member discount. If you are uncertain as to whether you are a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com, send us an email at info@thecorporatecounsel.net and we can let you know. The Conferences will be held on November 9th and 10th, in San Francisco and by Live Video Webcast (and archived if you have a conflict on any of those dates). Here are the
agendas for the conferences, including a partial list of speakers (note that
additional speakers will be added). Those that listen to our webcasts know the
caliber of our content and that we carefully select our speakers so that
practical guidance is the order of the day. The Conferences will be practical
and will be critical - so every person involved with drafting proxy disclosures
or in the executive pay processes should attend. Here are our Conference Package Rates. There is one cost for the pair of full-day Conferences. Note that we have priced this Conference Package to encourage the largest possible attendance and members of TheCorporateCounsel.net and CompensationStandards.com can attend at a substantial discount. It's not too late to become a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com to qualify for the member rate – and gain access to all the valuable information on these sites. If you need any assistance, please contact us at
info@thecorporatecounsel.net or 925.685.5111 (note this is a West Coast phone number, operative between 8 am – 4 pm West Coast time). With the stakes so high now for those involved with
drafting proxy disclosures and establishing pay practices, many companies and
law firms are taking advantage of the Firmwide Membership Center-so that all your
outside directors and staff can access the many resources on
TheCorporateCounsel.net and CompensationStandards.com. (Even if you have an
existing membership to TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com, you
can upgrade to a Firmwide license and enable all your outside directors and
staff to access this crucial program; you will receive a credit for any money
you have already paid). Here's what you'll need to watch the video: If you register for the Conference, you will have
access to the video/audio archives of the Conference until April 30, 2010.
We will be archiving every single minute of the Conferences – so you can go back and watch the Conferences at any time until April 30, 2010. It depends on whether you attend in San Francisco or via the nationwide webcast. Lawyers can earn CLE for most states if they attend live – and even earn credit in certain states if they attend live by video webcast. Here is a list of states, indicating if credit is available in your state, how much and whether it depends on attending live in San Fran or online. If you have CLE questions, send them to cle@thecorporatecounsel.net. Unfortunately, no CPE credits are available for attending the Conferences. However, directors will be able to earn continuing education credit as this program has been accredited by RiskMetrics. To obtain credit, you will just need to let RiskMetrics know which directors attended the Conferences.
Sure. But note that it costs less to pay for both the Conferences and a membership to one of the sites than to pay the non-member conference rates. We believe that nearly all members of TheCorporateCounsel.net and CompensationStandards.com will decide to attend the Conferences. You should note that this Conference Package is
priced so that it's cheaper than any other comparable conference rate we can
find because we value your membership! You only have to be a member of just
TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com to take advantage of the member rate.
Yes, the NASPP has made a special arrangement so that NASPP members can attend the "4th Annual Proxy Disclosure Conference" in San Francisco using the same rates available to TheCorporateCounsel.net and CompensationStandards.com members. Note that these same special rates are not available to NASPP members to attend via video webcast.
The "Tackling Your 2010 Compensation Disclosures: The 4th Annual Proxy Disclosure Conference" is a full-day conference that focuses solely on how to implement the SEC's executive compensation disclosure rules and is a must for anyone involved with drafting or reviewing proxy disclosures. In comparison, the "6th Annual Executive
Compensation Conference" is an intensive one-day conference that focuses on how
to implement responsible executive compensation practices. Although there is
some guidance that will be imparted during the "6th Annual Executive
Compensation Conference" on how to draft and review proxy compensation
disclosures, there also will be guidance provided on a wider variety of
practices, such as how to implement tally sheets and what compensation
committees should be doing now. Unfortunately no. Many members
have asked us to simplify our registration processes and the most
logical thing to do was to combine them into one package. Note that the early bird rate for the combined Conferences is just
half the price for these Conferences last year. No. However, a video archive of each panel will be
available - something that is not available for most other conferences. Yes, you can post your questions on the Q&A Forums of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com at any time. In the alternative, you can e-mail questions to info@ccrcorp.com. However, due to limited available time, the
panelists will not be able to answer questions during the Conferences. But they
will be helping to answer questions posted in the Q&A Forums. Yes, when you attend in San Francisco, you still will
have access to the archives of the video webcast until April 30, 2010 at no
extra cost - this will help you when you are drafting and reviewing your proxy
disclosures or setting pay practices. Just contact our Headquarters at 925.685.5111 or info@thecorporatecounsel.net and our Staff will apply the money you paid for a single license to the video webcast to the registration rate applicable for San Francisco attendance. Even when you attend in San Francisco, you still will have access to the archives of the video webcast until April 30, 2010, to help you when you are drafting and reviewing your proxy disclosures or setting pay practices. Note that if your company/firm paid for a firmwide
or unlimited license to the video webcast, you are unable to apply the money
paid for those licenses for attendance in San Francisco. Only money paid for a
single license in your name can be used to upgrade to a San Francisco
registration. No. Only money paid for a single license in your
name can be used to upgrade to a San Francisco registration. The rationale is that
others in your company/firm will still benefit from being able to attend via
video webcast, which was priced at very reasonable rates - so a new registration
for attending in San Francisco will need to be made in your name. All registrations are non-refundable. Register Now!
