We have had a groundswell of interest in our pair of full-day Conferences: "Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure Conference" and the "Say-on-Pay Workshop Conference: 15th Annual Executive Compensation Conference." Below are some frequently asked questions:

  1. Is there a member discount on conference rates if I am a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com?

    2. No. Anyone can attend at our low rates.

  2. When will you know what days the Conferences will be held and who will be speaking at the Conferences?

    3. The Conferences will be held on September 25th and 26th, in San Diego and by Live Video Webcast (and archived if you have a conflict on any of those dates).

    Here are the agendas for the conferences. Those that listen to our webcasts know the caliber of our content and that we carefully select our speakers so that practical guidance is the order of the day. The Conferences will be practical and will be critical - so every person involved with drafting proxy disclosures or in the executive pay processes should attend.

  3. How much do the Conferences cost?

    4. Here are our Conference Package Rates. There is one cost for the pair of full-day Conferences. Note that we have priced this Conference Package to encourage the largest possible attendance.

  4. Why does my company/firm need a Firmwide users license?

    5. With the stakes so high now for those involved with drafting proxy disclosures and establishing pay practices, many companies and law firms are taking advantage of the Firmwide Membership Center - so that all your outside directors and staff can access the many resources on TheCorporateCounsel.net and CompensationStandards.com. (Even if you have an existing membership to TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com) you can upgrade to a Firmwide license and enable all your outside directors and staff to access this crucial program; you will receive a credit for any money you have already paid).

  5. If I plan to watch the webcast by video webcast, what type of equipment and connection will I need?

    6. Here's what you'll need to watch the video:

    1. You will need one of the following "players" to access the video webcast HTML5, Windows Media Player or Flash Player. You can click here to check your system settings. The HTML5 player is supported by most web browsers. Please note that both Windows Media Player and Flash Player require plugins be installed in your browser. Downloading and/or installing the software may require permission from your IT department.
       
    2. You need approximately 600k of continuous incoming bandwidth in order to view a panel through a 500k link. If that high level of bandwidth is not available for you, your player will either not open - or it will continuously buffer (ie. freeze). If you experience this type of problem, it is highly recommended that you switch to a 300k link to watch the video.
       
    3. If you are still unable to access the archive, contact your IT department.

  6. For how long will I have access to the video/audio archives of the Conferences?

    7. If you register for the Conferences, you will have access to the video/audio archives of the Conferences until April 30, 2019.

  7. What if I can't watch the Conferences because I am too busy that day?

    8. We will be archiving every single minute of the Conferences - so you can go back and watch the Conferences at any time until April 30, 2019.

  8. Can I earn continuing education credit for attending the Conference?

    9. It depends on whether you attend in San Diego or via the nationwide webcast. Lawyers can earn CLE for most states if they attend live - and even earn credit in certain states if they attend live by video webcast. Here is a list of the states for which the Conferences are accredited. If you have CLE questions, send them to cle@thecorporatecounsel.net. Here are FAQs about CLE.

    Unfortunately, no CPE credits are available for attending the Conferences.

  9. Can I pay for the Conferences even though I am not a member of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com?

    10. Sure, at the same rate as members. See #1 above.

  10. What are the differences between "Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure Conference" on September 25th and the "Say-on-Pay Workshop Conference: 15th Annual Executive Compensation Conference" that will be held on September 26th?

    11. The "Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure Conference" is a full-day conference that focuses solely on how to implement the SEC's executive compensation disclosure rules and is a must for anyone involved with drafting or reviewing proxy disclosures.

    In contrast, the "Say-on-Pay Workshop Conference: 15th Annual Executive Compensation Conference" is an intensive one-day conference that focuses on how to put your best foot forward in a say-on-pay world and implement responsible executive compensation practices. Although there is some guidance that will be imparted during the "15th Annual Executive Compensation Conference" on how to draft and review proxy compensation disclosures, there also will be guidance provided on a wider variety of practices, such as what compensation committees should be doing now.

  11. What's the difference between the "Pay Ratio/Proxy Disclosure Conference" and the NASPP Annual Conference?

    12. This can be confusing - they are two separate events, but there is a small overlap. The Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure/15th Annual Executive Compensation Conferences are a two-day event, Tuesday & Wednesday, September 25-26th. The NASPP conference is a three-day event, Wednesday-Friday, September 26-28th.

    It's confusing because the panels of the 15th Annual Executive Compensation Conference that occur on the second day of that event - Wednesday, September 26th are considered part of the 40-plus panels of the NASPP conference. But the panels of the Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure Conference that occur on Tuesday, September 25th are not part of the NASPP conference.

    Some of the NASPP conference attendees decide to also register for the Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure Conference so that they can attend those panels on Tuesday, September 25th - they do so at a reduced rate.

  12. Can I pay for just one of the Conferences if I don't want to attend both?

    13. The Pay Ratio & Proxy Disclosure/15th Annual Executive Compensation Conferences are a two-day event, Tuesday & Wednesday, September 25-26th. Many have asked us to simplify our registration processes and the most logical thing to do was to combine them into one package.

    It is rare that those involved in proxy disclosure drafting and review would not also significantly benefit from the 15th Annual Executive Compensation Conference. [Note that the NASPP conference is indeed available separately from this package of two conferences, however. This is described in the FAQ just above.]

  13. Will written transcripts of the panels from the Conferences be made available?

    14. No. However, an archive of each panel will be available - something that is not available for most other conferences.

  14. Can I ask questions before, during or after the Conferences?

    15. Yes, you can post your questions on the Q&A Forums of TheCorporateCounsel.net or CompensationStandards.com at any time. In the alternative, you can e-mail questions to info@ccrcorp.com.

    However, due to limited available time, the panelists will not be able to answer questions during the Conferences. But they will be helping to answer questions posted in the Q&A Forums.

  15. If I attend the Conferences in San Diego, can I still get access to the video archive of the Conferences?

    16. Yes. When you attend in San Diego, you still will have access to the archives of the video webcast until April 30, 2019 at no extra cost - this will help you when you are drafting and reviewing your proxy disclosures or setting pay practices.

  16. If I already registered for the video webcast of the Conference and now want to attend live in San Diego what do I need to do?

    17. Just contact our Headquarters at 925.685.5111 or info@thecorporatecounsel.net and our Staff will make the change for you. Even when you attend in San Diego, you still will have access to the archives of the video webcast until April 30, 2019, to help you when you are drafting and reviewing your proxy disclosures or setting pay practices.

    Note that if your company/firm paid for a firmwide or unlimited license to the video webcast, you are unable to apply the money paid for those licenses for attendance in San Diego. Only money paid for a single license in your name can be used to upgrade to a San Diego registration.

  17. If my company/firm paid for a firmwide (or unlimited) license to the video webcast, am I able to apply the money already paid for that license so I can attend in San Diego?

    18. No. Only money paid for a single license in your name can be used to upgrade to a San Diego registration. The rationale is that others in your company/firm will still benefit from being able to attend via video webcast, which was priced at very reasonable rates - so a new registration for attending in San Diego will need to be made in your name.

    19. All registrations are non-refundable.
